Panasonic Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
Review of the Panasonic Bagless Straight Suction Canister Vacuum
The Panasonic Bagless vacuum cleaner straight suction canister vacuum, model MC-4620, is a canister vacuum designed primarily for homes with bare floors only. The vacuum uses bagless technology, so you never need to purchase bags. The MC-4620 costs about $110, includes a 1-year manufacturer’s parts and labor warranty, weighs approximately 14 pounds, and has a 17-foot cord.
Panasonic Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Features
- Large dirt cup
- Tools
- Blower operation
- Filtration system
Large Dirt Cup
The MC-4620 includes a large 2.5-quart dirt cup, and you can usually vacuum your home without stopping to empty it partway through.
Tools
The MC-4620 comes with two handy accessories: a crevice tool for hard-to-reach areas and a dusting brush.
Blower Operation
Not all vacuum cleaners offer this capability. If you can’t reach a space with the crevice tool or wand, you still have options. Attach the hose to the blower port and blow the dust or dirt out.
Filtration System
Although this vacuum is small and inexpensive, it includes a complex 5-layer filtration system that removes allergens, pollen, and other pulmonary irritants.
The MC-4620 also features an LED indicator for the filters. If any filter needs attention, the indicator light alerts you right away.
Panasonic Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations
Because this vacuum has limited uses, it isn’t recommended for most households. If you have carpet or rugs, you’ll need an additional vacuum. In most cases, it makes more sense to invest in a model versatile enough to handle all flooring types.
Pros
This lightweight vacuum is easy to transport up and down stairs when needed. It includes an automatic cord rewind, so pressing one button stores the cord neatly. Suction is very good, and blow power is also very good.
Cons
The on/off switch is small and poorly positioned, and the release for the dirt cup sits on the handle. If you’re not careful, you may release the dirt cup when you try to pick up the vacuum by the handle.
The attachments feel cheaply made and don’t stay connected to the hose well, since they attach by pressure only. A twist-lock feature would improve the design. If the accessories aren’t firmly jammed into the hose, they fall off.
This vacuum has no beater bar and works primarily on hard floor surfaces. The 17-foot cord is also short, so you’ll likely search for outlets often.
