Review of Lindhaus Activa Evolution Vacuum Cleaner

The Activa Evolution is an upright style vacuum that uses disposable bags.

This is a dual purpose machine; it is not only a vacuum cleaner it’s also a dry carpet cleaning machine.

The Activa Evolution has an easy interchangeable filtration system which allows the user to adjust the filtration to their specification.

It comes standard with a washable motor filter, and a 3M Filtrete exhaust motor.

Lindhaus manufactured this model with a long 35 foot power cord, and it has a cleaning path of about 12 inches.

The Evolution weighs just a little less than 15 pounds at approximately 14.8 pounds.

Priced from about $500, the Evolution comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty, and a 3 year warranty on the motor.

Easy Conversion from Vacuum to Dry Carpet Cleaning:

Here’s a unique feature. The vacuum can easily be converted to a dry carpet cleaning machine in just a couple of steps that does not require any tools.

Change the vacuum brush roll to the dry clean brush. The close the top mounted suction channel.

That’s it; you are ready to dry clean your carpet. (The dry clean brush and chemicals are an optional purchase.)

On Board Accessories:

The Activa Evolution has the usual compliment of accessories. It comes with a crevice tool, upholstery brush, and a telescopic wand.

The attachments are carried on the back of the vacuum for easy accessibility when ready to use.

The round dust brush is available for purchase as an option on the standard Evolution, and comes as an accessory on the Silver Blue Evolution.

The Evolution also features upper and lower cord hooks, and the vacuum has the quick release feature on the cord wraps.

The hose is capable of stretching out to a ratio of 4 to 1.

Noise Level:

The Evolution is a relatively quiet vacuum. The noise level produced is about 69 db (A).

Filtration System:

The Evolution also has the unique ability to have the filtration system upgraded. There is a carbon active/micro filter cartridge available.

This filter removes odors such as smoke, kitchen and pet smells.

For health care environments or for people who are allergy sufferers, there is an S-class HEPA filter available.

With the use of the S-class filter, particles as small as .3 micron are removed with 99.97 percent efficiency rating.

Use of this filter during allergy season or after dusting your home, can improve the indoor quality of the air.

Lindhaus Activa Recommendations:

In general, users seem very pleased with Lindhaus vacuums. They work as they are supposed to, and are reliable. If they need service, they are repairable at most vacuum shops.

One user reported that her model of Lindhaus was gentle enough to use on her Persian carpet, and had enough suction to pick up her dog’s long hair.

Another user of the Activa Evolution found this model lightweight and easy to maneuver. She also found that it was quiet enough while running, that it didn’t disturb her animals.

Cons:

It uses disposable bags that need to be replaced. One user commented that the bags seemed expensive.
