Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The WindTunnel T-Series Bagless Upright has three models to choose from: UH70105, UH70107 and UH70116. These WindTunnels are a fairly lightweight vacuum weighing 15.7 to 16.5 pounds.

The WindTunnel vacuum features Hoover’s cyclone technology which produces a powerful centrifugal force pulling dirt from deep within the carpet. The filtration system is a washable and reusable HEPA filter which separates dirt and dust making the exhausted air cleaner. The vacuum is also bagless, which is another convenient aspect.

The Hoover WindTunnel Bagless upright, models UH70105 and UH70107 are priced from about $67 from online retailers to $99 from Hoover. For model UH70116 the price ranges from $87 online to $129 from Hoover. These models are all backed by a limited 2 year parts and labor warranty from Hoover.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Features:

  • Dual Cyclonic Suction
  • HEPA Filtration System
  • 5 Height Adjustments
  • Washable Dust Cup; bagless
  • Lightweight with On Board Tools
  • 27 Foot Cord (models UH70105 & UH70107)
  • 30 Foot Cord (model UH70116)

Cyclonic Technolghy:

The Hoover WindTunnel vacuum has more than enough power to tackle dirt, dust and hair throughout your house. They cyclone technology creates a powerful suction minimizing blow back. This is important if you’ve ever tried to vacuum and chase dust bunnies and dirt around.

HEPA Filter:

This is an important feature to look for on any vacuum, especially for those that suffer with allergies.

A Hoover HEPA filter vacuum cleaner is tested and proven to trap 100 percent of common dust mites, pet allergens, and pollen from the air which is quite impressive. Without a good filtration system, you risk the dirt and dust blowing back out of the machine; especially if the “bag” gets too full. HEPA filters are the way to go.

Lightweight with On Board Tools:

This is a lightweight vacuum that you can easily move from room to room or carry up stairs. The tools that come with these models include: an air powered hand tool, an 8’ stretch hose (12’ on model UH70116), a crevice tool and an upholstery and dust brush. These tools are all conveniently carried on board so that they are handy when and where you need them.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends these vacuums. They are all powerful and have enough features, tools and attachments to get any job done around the house. They are also very reasonably priced and owners love them. The only thing to consider is if you want the brush bar to turn off. None of these models will do this; you would have to choose the Hoover WindTunnel Rewind Model #UH70130.

Pros:

There are very few complaints when it comes to the power of the WindTunnel. Most owners agree that it has enough suction to not only pick up dust and dirt but to tackle tough pet hair.

These models are bagless and have a washable HEPA filter. This saves not only money on replacements but the time it takes to go to the store and purchase more.

The attachments are all at your fingertips and easy to use. When using the wand, you just press a button and the hose comes out and you are all set to go. The Air-powered hand tool spins and has powerful suction to work on upholstery and pet hair.

Cons:

None of these models have the ability to turn the brush roller off. This is something to consider if you have wood floors although there were no complaints about this lack of feature. Some people complained the vacuum is noisy and also makes strange sounds.

On models UH70105 and UH70107 the cord and the stretch hose could be longer. Hoover addressed this issue with the UH70116 and lengthened the cord from 27 to 30 feet. The stretch hose is also longer in the UH70116. Instead of an 8 foot hose, they have supplied a 12foot hose.
