Energy Efficient
The Envirovac is an energy-efficient vacuum. The manufacturer claims this vacuum uses up to 33% less energy than comparable vacuums. It uses an 8-amp motor to power the vacuum, and this lower energy draw adds to its overall affordability.
Washable Filter
The washable filter captures dust, pet dander, and other allergens. Waste is eliminated because this filter is washable and reusable. Furthermore, the reusable design helps keep ongoing costs down.
Adjustable Height
This vacuum can be used on many different flooring types. It can be adjusted to different pile heights or for use on bare floors. However, users should be aware of the limitations noted later.
Attachments for the Eureka Envirovac Vacuum Cleaner
The Envirovac has a few attachments to make your cleaning as easy as possible. You’ll get the standard crevice tool for reaching into nooks and crannies, a dusting brush, and a turbo nozzle. Additionally, this nozzle is useful for cleaning stair risers and upholstery, giving the vacuum more versatility.
Eureka Envirovac Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations
Mrs. Clean does not recommend this model.
The vacuum requires too frequent maintenance, and you may end up spending as much time cleaning filters as you do vacuuming. Additionally, the maintenance schedule adds both time and cost.
Pros
The Envirovac is economically priced. The dirt container is easy to empty. The dirt empties from the bottom of the cup, which means you won’t get as dirty as with some other manufacturers’ styles of bagless vacuums.
Cons
Dig out your tool kit. If the belt needs to be replaced, you’ll need a screwdriver at minimum, and the manufacturer suggests changing the belt monthly.
The foam filter needs to be washed out at least weekly, and the HEPA filter replaced every 6 months. This just sounds like a lot of maintenance and expense. Unfortunately, after you wash out the filter, you’ll probably need to clean your sink as well.
Additionally, this model comes with a 25-foot cord. This is a short cord, and the user will be frequently looking for electric outlets.
Although you can adjust the height of the vacuum for many different flooring types, the Envirovac does not have a beater bar that can be shut off. If you use this vacuum on delicate flooring surfaces, you run the risk of scratching the surfaces because the beater bar continually spins.
