Dyson DC33 Multi Floor Vacuum Cleaner Review
Review of the Dyson DC33 Multi Floor Vacuum Cleaner
The Dyson DC 33 Multi Floor is an upright vacuum built with Dyson’s unique features.
The Dyson Company was founded on the idea to address problematic features of common vacuum cleaners. The Multi Floor model was designed to efficiently vacuums carpet, ceramic, vinyl, and wood surfaces.
The DC33 includes Dyson’s patented cyclone technology so as not lose suction even when using attachments. This vacuum comes standard with a stair hose to reach to top of stairs; on-board tools; edge cleaning ability, lifetime washable HEPA filter and a carrying handle.
The Multi Floor model weighs 17.6lbs pounds, and is priced from about $375 from online retailers to $399 when purchased directly from Dyson. The DC33 is backed by one of the best warranties; 5 year parts and labor.
Dyson DC33 Features:
- Patented Cyclonic technology
- Sturdy ABS polycarbonate construction
- Lifetime washable HEPA filter
- Traps microscopic pollen and allergens
- No extra bag and filter costs
- 15.7 foot Telescoping wand
- 35 foot power cord
Cyclonic Technology:
The Multi Floor vacuum uses the patented power of Root Cyclone technology created by Dyson. What this means to you is that Dyson vacuums don’t lose suction power when vacuuming even when the dust bin is almost full.
It all works by spinning the air to create a strong centrifugal force. The force picks up and removes even microscopic dust and dirt from the air and into a clear bin. This includes fine dust that will clog most ordinary bagless vacuum filters.
Lifetime HEPA Filter:
You’ve heard of HEPA filters before but there are a few things that set this filter apart from others. First, it is a lifetime washable HEPA filter. No more running to the store to purchase more filters. Just wash this one and you’re ready to go.
This filter is also designed to trap even microscopic pollen and allergens which makes it great for those sensitive to dust or allergy sufferers. No more sneezing and dust clouds coming out of your vacuum; even when this one is full.
There are other vacuums I’ve tried that have HEPA filters but the DC33 is certified “asthma & allergy friendly” by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
This means that the DC33 is tested for the how it removes allergens from carpets, and the air when vacuuming, filtration reliability, cleaning performance when the bin is almost full capacity, and the risk of allergen exposure when emptying the bin. The Multi Floor meets or exceeds the strict regulations and tests to receive certification.
35 Foot Power Cord:
The DC33 has tackled the issue of power cord length. This model features an impressive 35 foot power cord to reach more square footage than most other vacuums; including other Dyson models.
This is a great feature to allow more non-stop vacuuming without the annoying interruption of finding another outlet to plug into again and again. You may even be able to do your whole house with one outlet!
Sturdy Construction:
Some people are not impressed when looking at the DC33 because they say it is “made of cheap plastic”. What they don’t know is that this plastic is ABS polycarbonate plastic. This is the same plastic that is used in crash helmets and for making riot shields. This is tuff stuff. This also allows the Multi Floors to be lightweight and easy to carry up stairs.
Dyson DC33 Recommendations:
The Dyson DC33 Multi Floor model vacuum is recommended by Mrs. Clean.
This vacuum is one of the more “pricey” vacuums so why do we recommend this one? Well, it comes with one of the best warranties available, has more than enough power lift dust and microscopic particles, makes your air cleaner and no bags or paper filters to buy- ever.
This sets the Dyson DC33 Multi Floors apart from most other vacuums on the market. I have used other vacuums and, in most cases, you get what you pay for.
Pros:
The DC33 is made of sturdy polycarbonate construction.
Powerful suction even at the end of all the attachments.
Has one of the best warranties available.
The Multi Floor has HEPA filtration, so exhausted air is free from allergens and pollens and actually cleaner than the air you normally breathe.
Comes standard with on board tools and a 15 foot telescoping wand to reach ceilings and stairs.
The DC33 is bagless and comes with a washable filter. No extra costs, no running to the store.
35’ power cord for easily moving from room to room without switching outlets.
Cons:
Pricey. Some are not willing to pay the initial price for this vacuum.
The 15 foot telescoping wand seems to be awkward at the first couple uses. Many find that it takes a little time to get used to. The hose is also a bit stiff and could be more flexible.
Some try to vacuum rugs with the brushbar on and their rugs get sucked up in the vacuum. The brushbar needs to be turned off for rugs and this vacuum may be too powerful for thin or small rugs.
