Dyson DC24 All Floors Vacuum Cleaner Review
Review of Dyson All Floors Vacuum Cleaner
Weighing in at 11.65 lbs this is the lightest and most compact vacuum Dyson has. This model has a collapsible handle so that it can be stored in a small space or will easily fit in the closet with room for more storage.
The Ball design allows the vacuum to pivot and turn on a dime, making this vacuum easy to maneuver in tight spaces and around furniture. This model uses Root Cyclone technology to separate dirt from the air by centrifugal force, which ensures efficient cleaning with no clogging or loss of suction, even if using the wand.
The filters and canister are washable so there are no bags to throw away and no running to the store to replace them.
You also have an extended wand to clean in the high out of the reach areas.
This vacuum has a 5 year warranty for both parts and labor. It is priced around $399 new or around $300 refurbished. (Refurbished vacuums have a 6 month warranty).
Dyson DC24 Features:
- Root Cyclone technology eliminates clogging and provides amazing suction
- Works on all floor types, the brush bar can be turned off to protect hardwoods
- Washable HEPA filter; asthma friendly and certified
- Lightweight and compact (under 12 lbs). Measures 13-2/3 by 11 by 43-2/7 inches
- 5-year parts-and-labor warranty
Root Cyclone Technology:
DC24 really lives up to Dyson’s claims of controlled suction. It works on all surfaces with virtually the same great suction power. The difference between this Dyson and other brands is really noticed when the unit is moved from one surface to another. The transition is smooth and you will not even notice that it is adjusting.
Lifetime Washable HEPA Filter:
The Dyson 24 comes with a lifetime washable HEPA filter. With replacement costs for bags, belts and filters, other vacuums costs you more over time. This vacuum states that compared to Bissell, Hoover and Eureka, they have the lowest total maintenance cost. This is based on recommended filter and belt replacement information provided by each manufacturer.
Cleaner Expelled Air:
The lifetime HEPA filter also allows for cleaner expelled air. It traps microscopic allergens including pollen and bacteria. In fact, air expelled from a Dyson has up to 150 times less bacteria and mold than the air you normally breathe. In addition all Dyson uprights are certified asthma friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
Attachments:
This model comes standard with a reversible wand for extended reach when cleaning stairs, drapes, upholstery, and more. Also included is a combination accessory tool. The nozzle converts to a brush tool for dusting. Check Dyson’s website for special offers of additional attachments that may be offered free as a promotion.
Dyson DC24 Recommendations:
People liked how the Dyson moved from one surface to another. Not having to struggle with it or even notice as it adjusted when moving to different floor types. The canister was easy to empty although it fills up very fast ( which probably says something about the cleanliness of our floors than anything else). It is so small and compact with powerful suction. Some people have found the wand a bit of a struggle to use. It has been improved but takes some getting used to.
One reviewer noted this is one of the best vacuums he has ever purchased. It is easy to use, sucks up just about anything, easy to clean furniture. Just keep moving and your vacuuming is done in a snap! One woman; who has many children, said she loved how she could grab the vacuum and clean up under the high chair before she had to get the baby out. It saved her time to grab and go. Because the vacuum moves on the ball it just goes anywhere you turn your wrist and it moves very easily.
For the money this Dyson is a must have. The only drawback might be the wand design and getting used to it. Other than that it is very durable and kid friendly.
