Review of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

The Scorpion Quick Flip is a compact, hand held vacuum manufactured by Dirt Devil, powered by a 7 amp motor.

This handheld is not a cordless vacuum but is powered by AC current, and comes with a 16 foot cord which is longer than most handheld vacuums on the market.

The Dirt Devil Quick Flip is a light weight vacuum weighing in at less than 4 pounds.

Backed by a manufacturer warranty of 3 years on the motor, and 3 years on other parts, the Scorpion Quick Flip is available from about $25.00.

Scorpion Quick Flip Features:

  • Bagless
  • Quick Flip Crevice Tool
  • Powerful 7 amp motor
  • Accessories

Bagless:

The Quick Flip features bagless technology. No more vacuum bags or belts to purchase ever, simply empty the dirt cup.

Quick Flip Crevice Tool:

By simply flipping the crevice tool downward, you now have powerful, concentrated suction.

This is perfect for getting into cracks and crevices such as car seats.

Powerful 7 Amp Motor:

This small in size vacuum packs a powerful 7 amp motor.

You’ll find it has plenty of suction to vacuum up even sand particles off your floor.

Accessories:

This small vacuum comes with accessories found on much larger style vacuums.

In addition to the built in Quick Flip crevice tool, it also comes with a 30 inch hose, a dusting brush, and an upholstery brush.

Scorpion Quick Flip Recommendations:

I would not recommend this vacuum because it is too ‘gadget-y’ and designed for fairly specific uses; it might compliment your other cleaning tools, but it won’t replace a regular vacuum.

It is not designed to vacuum entire rooms.

Pros:

The dirt cup is easy to detach, empty, and reattach.

The Scorpion never needs a battery recharge; because it is AC powered it is always ready to go, providing consistent suction.

Because of its small size, the Quick Flip can probably reach areas a big vacuum cannot.

The Scorpion Quick flip is very reasonably priced, and is backed by a longer than average warranty.

The crevice tool is built in, so you will never have to go look for it.

Cons:

The dirt cup is not see through plastic. This means you’ll never know if the cup is actually full and needs emptying.

A 16 foot cord is a short cord for a vacuum. You’ll need to purchase a separate extension cord, especially if you are going to use this to maintain your car.

There is no storage system for the cord. No cord wraps are provided. This means you’ll have to come up with your own method for neatly storing 16 feet of cord.
