Review of Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, model 3920, is an upright vacuum manufactured by Bissell with a design emphasis on removing pet hair.

It is a vacuum that is does not use bags, saving the user money on vacuum bag replacement.

Use this vacuum to remove pet hair and other debris from upholstery, carpets, hard surface flooring, and your vehicle.

Available on the internet from about $128, the Pet Eraser Vacuum is powered by a 12 amp motor and weighs about 25 pounds.

It’s backed by a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Features:

  • Dual Cyclonic Power
  • Clean filter Indicator
  • Dirt Container
  • Attachments and Extras

Dual Cyclonic Power:

What is the purpose of dual cyclonic power? Cyclonic action provides better and longer lasting suction.

The filters on the vacuum stay cleaner longer with cyclonic power which means you have more suction, because you aren’t working with a plugged up filter.

Pet hair, dust, debris, etc, stays in the dirt container rather than the filter.

Clean Filter Indicator:

For times when the filter does eventually need some attention, this vacuum comes with a clean filter indicator.

You’ll know by the indicator when the filter is plugged and needs to be changed or cleaned.

Dirt Container:

The Pet Hair Eraser vacuum has a clear plastic dirt container, which is a great feature; because you can see the debris and hair you are vacuuming off surfaces!

It can be very gratifying to see the results of your hard vacuuming work by what is in the container.

The other nice thing about this is if you accidentally vacuum up something, you will probably see it, unlike what happens with a vacuum that uses disposable bags.

Vacuum up an unintended object in that style of vacuum, and the object is likely to get throw out with the vacuum bag.

The Pet Hair Eraser vacuum’s canister also is easy to empty, and easy to make sure it is back in its proper place by the use of the lock n’seal lever.

Attachments and Extras:

The Pet Eraser vacuum has a number of characteristics to make your cleaning experience as enjoyable as possible.

To reduce pollens, dust and other troublesome allergens, the vacuum has HEPA filtration.

It has a couple of attachments that are specific to pet hair removal including a Pet Turbo Brush, which is like a mini vacuum head with a beater bar, and a pet contour tool, which helps you get to hard to reach areas.

To maximize your cleaning, the contour tool is flexible. The vacuum is built with a pet hair lifter.

As you pull back on the vacuum, hair is grabbed and lifted, and when you push forward, the hair is released and sucked up.

The vacuum also comes with the more common attachments including extension wands, crevice tools, and dusting brush.

It has a 15 inch wide path, a 35 foot cord, and quick release cord wraps.

It also has 7 height adjustments so you can use adjust it appropriately to the surface you are vacuuming.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Recommendations:

Pros

People who liked the vacuum were very impressed with the suction, and the vacuum’s ability to pick up animal hair.

They also liked the fact that it was affordable, and seemed to perform as well as more expensive vacuums geared towards pet owners.

Many were also impressed with the accessories and how well they worked.

Cons

Those who didn’t like the vacuum thought the size of the dirt container was not big enough, the weight of the vacuum was too heavy and cumbersome, and lack of suction. These users said it worked well to begin with, and then gradually the suction got worse and worse.

The “cone” had to be cleaned frequently, and took some practice to do without making a mess; it’s possible that this is why the suction got worse for the people who didn’t like the vacuum.

Another negative comment was the brush roll and belt need to be changed frequently and this is not a part covered under warranty.
