Review of KleenJet Mega 500V Steam Cleaner Review

The KleenJet Mega 500V is a steam cleaner designed for home use or light commercial use. Producing steam temperatures of up to 310 degrees Fahrenheit, and pressure of 75 psi, the Mega 500V is a serious cleaning tool. This model also has the additional feature of being able to operate as a wet/dry vacuum.

As with other KleenJet models manufactured by Daimer, the company backs the Mega 500V with a lifetime warranty on the boiler, a full 1 year warranty on parts and labor, and a 3 year warranty on parts. The 500V is priced from about $2197.00

The Mega 500 V operates for approx 4 hours per fill up, and weighs about 28 pounds.

Boiler Volume:

The Mega 500V has a large 4 liter capacity boiler. This means the system can steam clean for about 4 hours at a time before it needs refilling. The first initial heating cycle takes approximately 15 minutes to heat.

Vacuum:

The Mega 500V dry vacuums carpets, hardwood floors, mattresses, and other surfaces. Pet hair, bed bugs, pollen/dust mites, dirt and other allergens are removed from the surfaces and deposited into an extraction chamber filled with water for easy removal and disposal. The Mega 500V also acts as a wet vacuum cleaner. Because it can extract moisture while cleaning, this helps reduce the need for towels that is sometimes needed with other steam cleaners.

HEPA Filtration and Water Filtration:

This is an excellent piece of equipment for removing allergens from your home. With both water filtration and HEPA filtration, allergens as small as 3 microns are removed from your environment, and easily disposed of.

Attachments:

The Mega 500V comes with about 40 attachments that actually come standard with the unit – not as a separate purchase. To name a few of the more important accessories, the Mega 500 V comes with 2 extra heavy duty extension rods, a ten foot detachable steam hose, 4 different squeegee’s, 7 different brushes, a grout cleaning tool, an upholstery nozzle, and a HEPA filter. There are 2 accessories that are exclusive to Daimer Industries, a steam plunger to sanitize bathroom sink drains, and a steam scraper.

KleenJet 500V Recommendations:

Reviewers who purchased this product were amazed at how clean surfaces they used it on came. Surfaces such as mattresses, upholstery, tile and grout, sinks, showers, countertops etc, came amazingly clean without the use of any chemicals, just by using the steam only. One reviewer was impressed with the appearance of the Mega 500V as well. He liked the stainless steel, because it was easy to keep clean and polished looking, and he liked the quality of the accessories.

The attachments felt heavy duty. Other positive comments included the unit was lightweight and easy to maneuver. The hose is extra long – this is a feature that other steamers don’t have, and can make for awkward cleaning. Attachments such as hoses are easy to connect; and it is clear to the operator if they are in the locked position or not. One reviewer also made the comment that they not only saved money in not having to purchase additional cleaning chemicals, but the saved money by reducing the amount of allergy and asthma medication they needed.

One negative comment that a reviewer had was they wished it had a continuous refill feature. Unfortunately with this model, you do have to refill, and wait for the unit to reheat. This procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, so you may experience some unwanted downtime.
